전 세계 ‘수포자(수학포기자)’의 수학공부를 돕기 위한 스타트업 ‘매스프레소’ 창업자. AI기반 수학풀이 검색서비스 ‘콴다’를 개발 운영하고 있다. 이종흔 대표는 인천과학고를 거쳐, 한양대 전기공학과를 졸업했고 연세대 공학경영학과에서 석사 학위를 받았다. 미국 포브스가 선정한 ‘2020년 아시아 30세이하 300인 리더’로 선정되었다.

수학풀이 검색서비스인 ‘콴다’ (‘Q and A’)는 학생이 모르는 문제를 사진을 찍어서 검색하면 5초 만에 풀이를 제공한다. ‘콴다’는 5개국에서 교육 차트 1위를 차지하였고, 50여 개국에서 매달 450만여명의 학생들이 사용하고 있다. 국내에서는 초.중.고 학생 3명 중 2명이 사용하는 국민 교육앱으로 자리 잡았다. 지금까지 누적된 10억 건 이상의 문제 검색 데이터를 통해 각 학생에게 가장 효과적이고 개인화된 학습 콘텐츠를 제공한다. 콴다는 한국어와 수식을 동시에 인식하는 AI 기반의 광학문자판독(OCR) 기술을 자체 개발해 비정형적 데이터를 비롯해 학생이 손글씨로 쓴 수식까지 인식할 수 있다.

QANDA, which stands for ‘Q and A,’ is a mobile app that allows students of all levels to receive instant answers and customized learning sources at zero or minimal cost. Supported by over 1 billion solution data and a self-developed search engine, QANDA provides accurate solutions to a student’s question in five seconds. QANDA has over 4.5 million monthly active users in over fifty countries. QANDA is used by more than two third of the entire K-12 student population in Korea and topped the Playstore Education Chart in five countries. QANDA recognizes text and mathematical formulas, even in handwriting, in a photo with optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
